School Council Blog

Hello, I’m Tahlia from Year 6 and I’ve been voted by my School Council friends to write a regular blog that will keep you posted on what we’ve been discussing in our School Council meetings. I am the blogger in the meetings nowadays. I have served my fellow students previously as a School Council member. I am now taking on a role to support the communication with others.

(Oct-16) This was the first month that we all came together after being elected. As a team we agreed our roles and responsibilities including selecting a Chair (Harrison), a Vice-Chair (George H).

(Nov-16) At each meeting we share our ideas that we have gathered from our class friends. A theme that we are currently working on is to design and display important safety reminders around school. Keep your eyes peeled for our posters coming soon.

(Dec-16) We were lucky enough to have 2 guests: Mr. Watson to talk about sport in school and Mrs. Kendall to discuss our love of Literacy. This was a really positive meeting with several suggestions progressing on to our Senior Leadership Team (SLT) for approval.

(Jan-17) Miss. Kelly asked if she could share a Student Friendly Safeguarding Policy with us. We voted unanimously to accept the policy, with Harrison signing it on our behalf. Please use the link provided to view this.

(Feb-17) Following SLT’s agreement we have invited Miss Ellam to find out more about her allotment project, recipe book and a potential ‘bake-off’.  A parent from Nursery is also due to attend shortly to discuss helping us with a themed family evening event.

(Mar-17) School Council will be holding meetings on the 2nd, 16th and 30th March. If you have any suggestions please inform your class representative.
