The Wave Model of Intervention

The school provides a graduated response to each child dependent on the level of need.  These are often referred to as waves of intervention.

WAVE 1:   Quality first teaching through differentiation in English and Maths lessons.

WAVE 2:   Small group support for those pupils who are achieving below age expected expectations.

WAVE 3:   Focused, individualised programmes for pupils working well below age expectation.

What is the Local Offer?

The Local Offer was first introduced in the Green Paper (March 2011) as a local offer of all services to support disabled children and children with SEN and their families.  This easy to understand information will set out what is normally available in schools to help children with lower-level SEN as well as the options available to support families who need additional help to care for their child.
