School Updates

Document sent home to parents on 26th May 2020

The Senior Leadership Team have written a detailed FAQ  document that we have sent out by Parentmail. We are making all our whole school documents available on the school website as we are aware that there are some faults with e-mail delivery through Parentmail due to their server capacity. Clearly all schools across the country are communicating to their parents often at this time.

The FAQs should be read carefully before parents contact the school with questions regarding the continual opening to the children of Critical Workers and Vulnerable children.

The FAQs have been written alongside our very detailed risk assessment. There are no exceptions to the risk assessment- it has been put in place in order for us to expand our current opening to an average of 15 children per day to 80 children per day. The risk assessment process will continue in order for us to make decisions about when it is appropriate to open school to key year groups.

May I also take this opportunity to thank those parents who have taken the time to e-mail school to thank us for the provision that has been in place so far and who have written in support of the decisions made by the Governing Body and the Senior Leadership Team.

Statement from the Headteacher and Chair of Governors 22/5/20

The Headteacher and Chair of Governors have agreed that the school has made appropriate preparations that will allow the school to continue to be open for Critical Workers and Vulnerable children from 1st June 2020.
The school will not re-open to the key year groups of Nursery, UFS, Year 1 and Year 6 until the Headteacher and the Chair of Governors are satisfied that the school is able to increase its capacity beyond the approximate number of 80 Critical Workers and Vulnerable children due in school on 1st June 2020.
The Headteacher and Chair of Governors are taking a cautious approach to the re-opening taking into account the views of staff, Wakefield Council, the teaching unions and other stakeholders.
Any reopening beyond Critical Workers and Vulnerable pupils, will be phased, one year group at a time.
