UFS New Starters
We are delighted to welcome you and your child to Upper Foundation Stage!
All our staff are hard-working mums who appreciate the difficulty of juggling various responsibilities at home alongside bringing up children. We are keen to provide a safe, nurturing and creative environment where your children can flourish and grow into independent young learners, ready for the next stage of their school journey.
Miss Mortimer - Sunshine
I am an experienced class teacher, specialising in Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) and have been fortunate enough to teach in a French primary school. As the subject leader in Dane Royd I am passionate about early language acquisition and promote a love of French in Upper Foundation through songs, games and cultural experiences. I believe that having a young son also gives me an invaluable insight into learning and development in early years. I understand that young children learn best through imaginative, playful, immersive experiences and endeavour to create memorable learning opportunities that will last a life time.
Mrs Ward - Rainbow
Although I am relatively new to teaching I am not short in experience with children. Team Ward consists of a tumbler, a dancer, a learner driver, a GB Triathlete and a chauffeur – the last one is me if you hadn’t already guessed! I spent my early thirties living and working in Australia and late thirties re-training from a business analyst to become the teacher I am today, all the while supported by Dane Royd to fulfil my ambition. I understand the importance of a holistic approach to learning and development in early years and believe that as Science and e-safety lead I offer a breadth of well-designed topics and hands-on experiences that encourage cross curricular learning opportunities and promote the resilience and self-belief needed to succeed in today’s education system.
