Welcome to Year 3/4

Meet the Staff

Mrs Potts

Favourite subject to teach:

I enjoy teaching every subject, but my favourite, if I had to choose, would be PE. I love being active and outdoors in the fresh air.

Favourite Book:

Charlotte's Web by E.B. White

Favourite Author:
I love to read Michael Morpurgo books aloud to my class. When I was younger, I used to love Julia Donaldson books.

Favourite Song:
I enjoy listening to most acoustic pop songs. My two favourite artists are Ed Sheeran and Mumford and Sons. I couldn't possibly choose just one song!

Hobbies:
I enjoy going on long walks, especially with my friends dog, Benji. I also enjoy running and going to the gym to wind down after work. On a weekend I love to watch films to relax.

Welcome to Year 3/4P!

As well as myself, Mrs Potts, as the class teacher, Mrs Robotham and Miss Tomsett are our class teaching assistants, they are the other half of our team. Our overall aim is to provide our children with engaging, stimulating lessons that prepare them not only for their later education, but future adult life. We want all of the children to come into class and learn something new every day whilst having fun and developing a love for learning. As part of Year 3/4 one of our main goals is to be independent, successful role models in everything we do. We always aim to set a good example in our behaviour and attitude by following both our class and school rules, and by learning from any mistakes we make, following and adopting a growth mind set and resilience. We are determined to become independent learners, who take an ownership over our own learning.

In our class, the children have many opportunities to learn in a variety of places outside the classroom, including a visit to Murton Park for a day in the life of a Roman. We also utilise the school grounds and our school garden where possible as part of our learning.

Our classroom is a safe, cheerful and welcoming environment, where we all, including the staff, give 100% during every lesson and activity. Everyone's opinions are valued and respected. As a class we will take care of our learning environment and take care of ourselves, others and property so that we can strive to be the best version of ourselves. We will aim to be responsible and independent role models who make progress and achieve our targets throughout the year, but most importantly enjoy school and have happy, smiling faces at the end of every day. Also, we will work as a team, treat everyone with respect and help and support those who need us, becoming confident and ambitious role models, leaving the year with many fantastic memories.

Please follow our class twitter page (@DaneRoydY3_4) for regular updates of the exciting things we do as a class.
